Two Guns

Two Guns began as a snake. It didn't stay one for long.

Matt started building around a mechanical part that became the tail or stinger. As the structure widened, the original idea stopped making sense.

"I looked at it and I was like, oh yeah, we're not doing a snake."

So he didn't force it.

Clutch plates from an automatic transmission became wings. Galvanized cable became long, curling hair. Fence-post caps became eyes. Railroad hardware went into the base. A piece Matt believes came from old farming equipment became part of the sawed-off shotgun.

Then there were the guns.

One wasn't enough visually. The other hand needed something, and Matt had no interest in simply making the same gun twice. The difference is part of the Piece.

"I like the challenge of new stuff, new creations, new, just new, you know?"

Two Guns never settled into a clean species. That isn't really the point. Matt describes him by what he is doing.

"He's like a flying character that's just over it."

In Matt's version, he is moving fast, hitting the air brakes and coming in ready to handle whatever is in front of him.

"He definitely ain't taking no for an answer."
