I started Crankshaft with the top of a gas bottle, some motorcycle chain and metal cutoffs, and let it take shape from there.
I used motorcycle chain in the eye sockets and punched out the metal for the suction cups, then heated and hammered them into shape.
The hardest part of this one was the repetition of making all those suction cups. There's just as much detail underneath as there is on top.
